
Tilgner went 6-0 in combined singles and doubles play as the Cougars captured the PBC regular-season championship as the top seed for this week’s PBC Tournament. A freshman from Seevetal, Germany, she beat Auburn-Montgomery’s Alejandra Gil 6-3, 6-2 and #24 Georgia College’s Kristen Jones 6-3, 6-3, both at #4 singles. She played in the fifth spot against #5 Hawaii Pacific and beat Leticia dos Santos 6-0, 6-1. In doubles, she partnered with Giorgia Vitale at #3 in all three matches, beating AUM’s Mustre/Foessmeier 8-2, GC’s Niemi/Garriga 8-0 and HPU’s dos Santos/Echeverria 8-4. Tilgner has the best overall record of any singles player in the PBC at 20-1 on the season, including 9-0 against PBC opponents. She is also 18-2 in doubles play.
