Women’s Soccer Defender of the Week: Christine Rolfes, UNC Pembroke

Women’s Soccer Defender of the Week: Christine Rolfes, UNC Pembroke

Rolfes was solid on the defensive and offensive ends for UNC Pembroke in a pair of wins last week. The senior from Concord, N.C., helped give North Georgia their only shutout loss of the regular season 1-0 and then scored two goals in a 3-1 win over Young Harris.  Rolfes and the Braves defense held the Nighthawks to four shots on goal in the 1-0 overtime win and she then scored two goals in a 3-1 against Young Harris.  The first of those two goals was the game-winner on a penalty kick and the second gave her the first multi-goal game of her career.  UNC Pembroke is second in the PBC with eight shutouts this season and third in team goals against average.  Rolfes is currently fifth in the league in assists.
