Lady Cougars Finish Fourth at Battle of Hilton Head

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - After the final round of the Battle at Hilton Head Island, the Lady Cougars finished in fourth place overall out of 21 teams. The tournament was played at the Palmetto Dunes Robert Trent Golf Course in Hilton Head, S.C. 

CSU finished the second round with a score of 315, just five shots off from what they carded in round one. The Lady Cougars finished with a two round total of 625. Florida Tech (596) came away with the team win a full 13 shots ahead of second place Anderson (609). Carson Newman (616) and Lenoir-Rhyne (629) finished third and fifth respectively to round out the top five. 

Victoria Libaak tied with Anna Meleshkina for the best day as they both turned in rounds of a four-over 76. Libaak led the team overall in the tournament with a seven-over 151 to put her in a tie for 9th-place overall. Meleshkina (155) was second on the team with an 11-over final score that resulted in a tie for 18th-place. 

Monica Ruiz Pavon put up a final round score of 81 to put her in a tie for 29th overall in the tournament. 

Selina Budde and Jordan Booker both turned in two-round totals of 165 to tie for 53rd overall. Booker finished with a 10-over 82 on the day while Budde was the drop score for CSU going 14-over to wrap up her tournament play. 

Columbus State will return home to play in the annual Lady Cougar Classic starting on Monday, March 4th. The tournament will take place at the Country Club of Columbus.
