Georgia Southwestern and Flagler were the only two PBC men's teams in action this week, both competing at the NSU Shark Invitational. GSW finished in 7thplace in the loaded 16-team field while Flagler was 11th. The tournament was played at the PGA National Champions Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
GSW shot a +55 par for a 919 total. Vincent Norrman and Ryan Cahill led the way for the Hurricanes, both finished tied for 22nd place. Norrman (77-73-78) and Cahill (76-79-73) both shot +12 par 228. Cole Madison (79-78-78) and Elias Birkeland (80-82-73) both shot +19 par 235, for a tied 43rd place. Tyler Barker shot scores of 84, 76 and 77 for a 237 score in a tied 54th place as Wil Hernandez, who participated as an individual, finished tied in 88th place with a 250 card.
Flagler's Mauro Baez finished the tournament with a 9-over 225 and joined two other golfers who finished in 13thplace. His final round 72 moved him up 10 spots on the leaderboard. Baez had eight birdies and 35 pars. Juan Iturra tied for 35th place with a 15-over 231. Chun Yan Leong carded a 25-over 241 and finished in a tie for 68th place. Charles Collings (247) and Niklas Grotterud (248) rounded out the Flagler's team.
No. 32 Saint Leo finished atop the standings, with a final score of 886. No. 3 Florida Tech (892), Keiser University (893), No. 7 West Florida (896) and No. 43 Nova Southeastern (904) rounded out the top 5 teams who competed.
In individuals, Benjamin Bailey from Keiser University carded a 215 to take home first place, followed by Florida Tech's Max O'Hagan with a 217 card. Three Saint Leo players, Oliver Lilliedahl, Alberto Castagnara and Simon Knutsson closed out the top 5 in individuals, with scores of 217, 218 and 218, respectively.
