Hanna began his collegiate career by hitting .583 in three games against Mars Hill with three home runs, eight RBIs and a 1.333 slugging percentage. The catcher and DH from Winder, Ga., homered and drove in two in his first college game, then hit two more home runs in the second game with five RBIs. He had multiple hits in all three games and did not strike out in 12 at-bats with two walks and a .643 on-base percentage. He started at catcher in the first and third games and had no errors in 20 chances with a runner caught stealing. Hanna is tied for the league lead in home runs, leads outright in slugging percentage and is tied for second in RBIs.
