CSU's Edwards, Flagler's Strekel Named PBC Runners of the Week

Edwards performed well against Division I opponents at the FSU Invitational in Tallahassee, FL. Edwards finished in 19th place with a time of 26:29.75, besting more than 100 racers in the largest field in the history of the FSU Invitational. The Cougars best performer early in the 2011 season finished less than one minute behind the race-winner, Auburn’s Kane Grimster.

Taylor Strekel • Flagler • Soph. • Stroudsburg, Pa.

Strekel wins her second straight PBC weekly honor after finishing in the top 50 at the University of Florida Mountain Dew Invitational.  Strekel ran the 5k course in 19:42, finishing 50th in the huge 208-runner field.  Her time is a personal best and the second-fastest 5k by a PBC runner so far this season.  Her finish helped Flagler to a 15th-place finish in the 19-team field, ahead of Divison I teams from Stetson and Bethune-Cookman.
