Armstrong Volleyball Adds Final Recruit For 2012

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Armstrong Atlantic State University head volleyball coach Will Condon has announced the signing of Dacula, Ga., outside hitter Kim Brody as his final signee for the upcoming 2012 volleyball season.

Brody is a 6'0" outside hitter who played at Mill Creek High School as well as the GA5 Volleyball Club. She was a Gwinnett County "Super Six" Volleyball selection as well as a first-team All-Area and All-County honoree. She tallied 784 kills combined in her junior and senior seasons of high school for the Hawks.

"The first thing we noticed about Kim was her power," coach Condon said. "She can absolutely crush a ball. Then, when you combine that with her size and athletic ability, you have a prototype outside hitter. She has the potential to be a six rotation, go-to type player. We are excited that she chose Armstrong and look forward to her being a member of this team."

Brody joins freshman 6'3" middle hitter Rachel Thompson (Camden County HS / St. Mary's, Ga.), freshman 5'7" libero Abby Jo Winsor (Wellington HS / Wellington, Fla.) and sophomore 6' middle hitter Taylor Permenter (Pennsylvania / Jacksonville, Fla.) in comprising coach Condon's recruiting class for the upcoming 2012 season.

"Looking at the class as a whole we think we have got a great mix of size and athletic ability, along with experience and pure talent," coach Condon said. "The upside of this class is tremendous and they will add a great deal to the talented group we have returning."

The four players join 13 returnees from the 2011 squad that finished 36-3 overall, ranked No. 25 in the AVCA Top 25 poll and captured the PBC regular season title as well as a ninth NCAA Championships appearance.
