UNCP's Morgan, Flagler's Snipes Named Volleyball Players of the Week

Player of the Week

Morgan was the fuel that propelled the Braves to four straight wins and the #3 seed in the PBC Tournament.  The senior collected 4.15 kills and 3.53 digs per set while hitting .316.  She began with a modest 10 kills and eight digs in a sweep of Francis Marion, then set a career-high with 24 kills, with only six errors, and 17 digs against Augusta State.  She added 20 more kills with 21 digs, becoming the only PBC player this season to go 20-20 in a match.  Morgan also had eight aces and five blocks in the three matches.  She is now third in the PBC in kills per set and 11th in hitting percentage.

Specialist of the Week

Olivia Snipes, Flagler
5-7 • Sr. • S • Easley, S.C.

Snipes helped lead Flagler to a 4-0 week and grab a share of the PBC regular season crown. She averaged 12.38 assists and 2.31 digs per set last week. She recorded double-doubles in wins over Lander and Lynn, both on the same day. She had a remarkable second set against Lander with 22 assists and 10 digs in a 30-28 win. She tallied a week-high 54 assists vs. Armstrong and added a career-high five total blocks.   She continues to lead the PBC and is ranked ninth nationally with 11.45 assists per set and Flagler as a team leads the league in hitting percentage.
