FMU's Crook, Armstrong's Seal Named Volleyball Weekly Award Winners

Crook was everywhere in three matches for the Patriots, averaging 3.27 kills, 4.82 digs and 0.64 blocks per set. The senior had two double-doubles in three matches, adding 0.55 assists per set, to increase her season total to eight. She began with 13 kills and 12 digs with three assists and three blocks against Coker, then had 16 kills and a career-high 31 digs in a five-set loss at Lander. She followed that with 10 more digs and seven kills at USC Aiken. She is now ninth in the PBC in total kills, 10th in kills per set and 12th in digs.

Seal was the driving force as Armstrong set a new school and Peach Belt record for best start to a season at 31-0. She directed a comeback from two sets down on Tuesday with 48 assists, five digs and five blocks in a 3-2 win at Valdosta State, then notched 34 assists, seven digs and four blocks in the Pirates' 3-0 win over Montevallo, which was the record-breaking 30th straight win to begin the season. Seal then served the first seven points of Armstrong's 3-0 win over Augusta on Saturday and notched 34 assists with a season-high six service aces. Now third in the PBC in assists per set and leads the league in aces.
