Walker, Seal Named Volleyball Players of the Week

 

Michelle Walker, Montevallo
5-11 • Fr. • OH • Houston, Texas

Walker made her collegiate debut in four matches at the Chrisitan Brothers Invitational, averaging 4.15 kills and 3.31 digs per set while hitting .400.  The true freshman got off to a  bit of a slow start with eight kills, eight digs and two blocks in the opener, but had double-figure kills in the next three games including an 18-kill, 23-dig performance against Henderson State.  She had 15 kills against West Georgia and 13 against Ouachita Baptist.  She hit .469 against Henderson State with only three errors in 32 attacks.  Leads the PBC in kills per set and is ninth in digs per set.

Ashley Seal, Armstrong Atlantic State
5-9 • Jr. • S • Orlando, Fla.

Seal made a great first impression in her first four games in an Armstrong uniform, averaging 11.13 assists per set in leading the team to a 4-0 record.  The junior setter had 46 assists, 10 digs, four aces and two blocks in a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Lenoir-Rhyne, then had 50 assists with seven digs and two blocks against Catawba.  Seal added 1.73 digs per set and 0.33 blocks per set and had 11 kills.  She leads the PBC in total assists, is second in assists per set and her 10 aces are also second in the PBC.
