Five PBC Women’s Soccer Teams Receive NSCAA Team Academic Award
KANSAS CITY, KS – Five Peach Belt Conference women’s soccer programs received the Team Academic Award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). To be eligible for the award, teams must have a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the 2009-10 academic year. Armstrong Atlantic State, Columbus State, Flagler and Lander each were placed on the list. Francis Marion, who plays Division I women’s soccer, was also named to the list.
Flagler receives the team academic award for the first time in program history with a team grade point average of 3.10. Armstrong Atlantic State carried a 3.25 GPA for 2009-10, earning the honor. Head coach Eric Faulconer's squad also earned the honor in 2008-09. Columbus State had the highest GPA of any Peach Belt team with a 3.43. Lander earns their academic award with a 3.28 average while Francis Marion earns their sixth team award with a 3.26 GPA.
