Aug 1, 2008 GCSU Teams Up With Little Feet to Provide Soccer Balls to Needy Children MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Georgia College & State
University soccer team and head coach Juan Pablo Favero are proud
to announce an agreement with non-profit organization Little Feet
to purchase practice balls.
A program beginning in March of 2006, Little Feet is a grassroots
organization sending soccer balls to underprivileged kids across
the globe. The program is simple, for each ball purchased through
the organization, Little Feet donates a ball to a needy child to
promote the game of soccer worldwide. The Bobcats are just the
second collegiate soccer team to join up with the organization.
“We have traveled to some of the most poverty stricken areas
all over the world and nothing can put a smile on a kid's face
faster than a new soccer ball can, “ said organization
founder Trevor Slavick. “It is simply amazing how one ball
can make such a huge difference in that child's life. Some of these
future smiles will now come courtesy of the Bobcat Soccer Team. A
soccer ball won't stop a war and it won't fill a belly, but it
might help heal a soul and let children be children; at least for a
little while.”
The Bobcat soccer team will use the balls for practice purposes,
and are happy to give back to future soccer stars.
Individuals can purchase soccer balls through Little Feet as well.
