GC's Garrett, CSU's Crowley Named Golfers of the Week
Men's Golfer of the Week
Patrick Garrett, Georgia College
Jr. Kennesaw, Ga.
Garrett captured individual medalist honors at the Armstrong Pirate
Invitational, shooting a five-under-par 137 in the two-round
event. The junior trailed the leaders by two strokes after an
opening-round 71, but went on a birdie binge in round two, shooting
a 66 to capture the title. The 66 is tied for the lowest
single round shot in the Peach Belt Conference this season with
GSW's J.P. Griffin, who did it at the AFLAC Cougar Invitational in
the fall. Garrett's efforts helped the Bobcats to capture the
team title at the event, their first win of the year. The
Pirate Invite was Garrett's second top-10 of the season and second
career victory, the first coming at the First Federal Southern
Collegiate in 2011.
