Armstrong's Wells, North Georgia's Tillman Named Basketball Players of the Week
Women's Player of the Week: Mauri Wells, Armstrong
Wells had four double-doubles in her first four games of the year, averaging 15.0 points and 14.5 rebounds per contest while shooting 52% from the floor. She opened with 21 poitns and 13 boards against Bluefield, then had 18 rebounds against Converse, 16 points with 13 boards against Young Harris and 13 points with 14 rebounds against Anderson. The sophomore also hit half of her four three-point attempts and 14 of 15 free throws (.933). 20 of her 58 rebounds were on the offensive glass and she added four assits and two blocks as Armstrong is off to their best start since 2002-03. She leads the league in rebounding and is fifth in scoring.

Men's Player of the Week: Clarence Tillman, North Georgia
Tillman was sensational in the Saints' first three games with 26.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per contest. The senior shot .553 (26-47) from the field, 42% (5-12) from three-point range and 85% from the line. He began with 27 points and seven rebounds against Brevard, then exploded for 36 points and seven boards against Mars Hill. He finished with 17 points and six boards against Newberry, hitting 11 of 12 free throws. Tillman added 2.3 assists per game with a pair of steals. He is second in the PBC in scoring with 26.7 ppg and 12th in the league in rebounding.
