PBC Men's Cross Country Recap - Oct. 11

North Georgia turned in their best finish of the season as they came in second at the 13-team Erskine Invitational. The Saints finished just three points behind Wingate, who won the event with 66 points. UNC Pembroke also ran at the event but did not have enough runners competing to score as a team.

Jayce Watson of Wingate set the pace, winning with a time of 26:16. He was followed across the line by Frederick Smith of Claflin with a time of 27:36.

Alan Schmitz was the top finisher for the Saints, finishing in third overall with a time of 27:49. He was followed across the line by Michael Valentine in eighth place with a time of 28:31. Teale Marchette rounded out the Top 10 for North Georgia, finishing in ninth with a time of 28:33.

Rounding out the runners for North Georgia on Thursday afternoon - Josh Kerzie finished 23rd with a time of 30:20, followed closely by teammates David Beall (24th) at 30:21 and Tommy Stapleton (25th) at 30:28. Andrew Garritson finished 33rd with a time of 31:11, followed by Alex Kenna with a time of 31:38 in 38th place.

Jesse McIntire was the high finisher for UNC Pembroke, coming in 10th with a time of 28:37. Seth West was next in 21st with a 30:05.
