FMU's Caspari, CSU's Cigui Named Tennis Players of the Week
Women's Player of the Week
Paola Cigui, Columbus State

Cigui improved to 10-0 on the season playing at #1 singles as she won four matches last week, including a nationally-ranked opponent. The sophomore started with straight sets wins over Wingate’s Ali Evers and Eckerd’s Stephanie Jenks, dropping only two games, then blasted #40 Emily Singleton of St. Leo 6-1, 6-4 and #15 Flagler’s Veronica Figueroa 6-3, 6-1. In doubles, Cigui partnered with Madeline Johnson at #2 doubles for four wins dropping only 11 games. She is the only player in the PBC to have double-digit singles wins without a loss and has dropped only one set all season.

Men's Player of the Week
Alex Caspari, Francis Marion
Junior • Hurth, Germany
Caspari improved to 7-0 on the season with wins over two nationally-ranked opponents. The junior downed 30th-ranked Bernardo Fernandes of Augusta State 6-3, 6-3 as the 13th-ranked Patriots beat the #12 Jaguasrs 5-4. He then dispatched #13 Jerome Leborgne of Georgia College in straight sets and kept alive his streak of not dropping a set this year. In doubles he partnered with Davin Davison to beat the #20 ASU team of Ferandes and Boturao and GC’s #14 Leborgne and Wadstein. Caspari is now 4-0 against ranked opponents in singles play.
