Dec 9, 2009 14 PBC Men's Soccer Players Named All-Region The Peach Belt Conference has placed 14 men’s soccer
players on the NSCAA and Daktrnoics All-Region teams, which were
recently released. Eight of the 14 appear on both teams with two
being named first-team by both. Overall the PBC had two first-team
players on the Daktronics team and three on the NSCAA team.
Lander, Clayton State, Francis Marion and Montevallo all had three
players named All-Region while North Georgia and USC Aiken had one
each.
The Lander duo of Jamie Ramm and Adam Arthur were named first-team
All-Region by both organizations. Arthur, a senior forward from
York, England, was voted the Peach Belt Conference co-Player of the
Year after leading the PBC in goals scored (14), total points (36)
and game-winning goals (4). Arthur was also second in the league in
assists with eight and seventh in shots taken (59).
Ramm, a senior defender from Scarborough, England, was named
first-team All-Conference by the PBC. He was the anchor of a
defense which allowed just 1.44 goals per game. He also scored both
goals in Lander's PBC tournament championship game and was named
the tournament MVP.
Clayton State’s Kyle Timm was named first-team by the NSCAA.
A senior from Johannesburg, South Africa, Timm was honored as both
All-Peach Belt Conference and PBC Co-Player of the Year. Directing
the Laker attack at center midfield, Timm led the PBC in assists
with 10, and has been the Lakers’ captain and offensive
playmaker all season. He tied the Clayton State single-game record
for assists against UNC Pembroke in the PBC Tournament
quarterfinals. In addtion, he is currently ranked ninth in the
nation in assists.
