Four PBC Golfers Named All-Americans
Four Peach Belt Conference golfers were named to the PING All-America Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Seven others were named Honorable Mention.

CSUs Immelman Named National Golf Coach of the Year
Columbus State head coach Mark Immelman was named the Division II Eaton Golf Pride National Coach of the Year following the NCAA Division II National Championships.

Columbus State Third, GCSU Fifth at NCAA Golf Championships
Columbus State played its way to within three shots of the lead on two occasions Friday at the Division II Golf Championship, but faltered on the final five holes and had to settle for a third place finish. GCSU shaved a stroke off of their third-round total and finished fifth in the 20-team field.

Peach Belt Conference golf teams have taken three of the top four spots; four of the top 10 and have five teams overall in the latest Golf World/Nike Golf top 25 poll from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

UNC Pembroke Wins Chick-Fil-A; GCSU Falls in Playoff at Southeastern
The UNC Pembroke Braves won their first event since 2005 as they took the Chick-Fil-A Intercollegiate hosted by LRC and Catawba. GCSU tied for first, but fell in a playoff, at the Southeastern Intercollegiate in Valdosta.

Diaz, USC Aiken Capture Wexford Title; Lander Ties for First at Southbridge
The USC Aiken Pacers, ranked #1 in the nation, won the Wexford Plantation Intercollegaite on Tuesday while Lander finished tied for first at the AASU/Southbridge Invitational.

Wilcox Wins Again as Clayton State Claims Matlock Invitational
For the second straight tournament, Clayton States Will Wilcox came away with the individual title, but this time he brought the rest of the team along as the Lakers won the Matlock Invitational on Tuesday.

Columbus State Team; Clayton's Wilcox Win at Outback Intercollegiate
The 2009 golf spring season got off to a fantastic start for the PBC as Columbus State won the Outback Steakhouse Intercollegiate on Tuesday while Clayton States Will Wilcox won the individual honor.

North Georgia to Add Men's and Women's Golf in 2009-10
North Georgia College & State University President Dr. David Potter and Athletic Director Randy Dunn have announced the addition of mens and womens golf as NCAA Division II sports to the athletic department starting in the fall of 2009, and have named Tom Fowler has head coach for the programs.

Columbus State's JP van der Walt carded an extraordinary round of 67 in blustery conditions on Tuesday to win medalist honors and lead CSU to a nine shot win at the Rollins College Invitational.

Columbus State freshman Michael Lee rebounded from a bad case of freshman nerves on Monday to fire a stellar round of 67 on Tuesday to lead CSU to a six under par team score and a three-shot win at the Indian Bayou Classic.

USC Aiken Golf Ranked #1 in Nation; 5 PBC Teams in Top 25
The USC Aiken Pacers are the top-ranked golf team in the nation in the new Golf World/Nike Division II Coaches Poll released on Oct. 15. Columbus State, GCSU, Lander and Clayton State are also ranked.

Lander, Belair Win Queens Invitational; Clayton St. Second
Led by Billy Belair's first-place finish, the Lander golf team won its first tournament of the season Tuesday afternoon at the Queens University Invitational. Clayton State finished second.

USC Aiken Wins Aflac/Cougar Invite; AASU 5th in Division I Field in Savannah
USC Aiken fired a team tournament low 7-under 277 on Tuesday to win by three shots over Florida Southern in the 17-team 2008 Aflac/Cougar Invitational held at the Country Club of Columbus. Meanwhile, Armstrong Atlantic State finished fifth of 13 teams at the Mizuno Savannah Intercollegiate.

UNCP's Walor Wins Laker Collegiate; Seven PBC Teams Have Top-Five Finishes
UNC Pembroke's Jordan Walor shot a five-under-par 211 to win the State Farm Laker Collegiate hosted by Clayton State on Tuesday, his first career tournament title. His performace was the highlight of a very busy and very successful weekend in Peach Belt Conference golf.

GSW's McKenney Wins Coker Intercollegiate; Lander Second
Georgia Southwestern's Adam McKenney fired an eight-under 136 to capture the Coker Intercollegiate title in Orlando, Fla. Lander finished second as a team, just one stroke behind Florida Southern.

GCSU finished in second place ahead of 16 Division I teams at the Raines Development Group Intercollegiate, hosted by Francis Marion. USC Aiken finished seventh in the 18-team field.

Incoming UNCP freshman Jordan Walor shot rounds of 68 and 69 at the par-72, 7,021 yard Walnut Creek Country Club to qualify for the 2008 U.S. Amateur Championship to be held on August 18-24 at the Pinehurst Resort & Country Club.

Clayton State's Wilcox Qualifies for U.S. Amateur Championship
Clayton State All-American Will Wilcox qualifed for the U.S. Amateur on Wednesday in the local Amateur qualifier at Piedmont Driving Club. He will next compete in the 108th U.S. Amateur Championship at Pinehurst, N.C.

AASU's Wolfe Finishes 3-0, Helps USA Defeat Japan
Armstrong Atlantic State junior men's golfer Chris Wolfe defeated Daisuke Okabe, 72-73, on Friday in the final day of the 2008 Fuji Xerox USA vs. Japan Collegiate Golf Championship on Thursday, helping USA capture the title.
