Nov 17, 2009 Clayton State men ink area prep standout Zach Bradley MORROW, Ga. – While the Clayton State Laker men’s
basketball is anxiously awaiting what could be a big 2009-10
season, head coach Gordon Gibbons and his staff took the first
steps towards preparing for 2010-11 with the early signing of Zach
Bradley from North Clayton High School in Riverdale, Ga. This is
the NCAA’s early signing period for high school seniors.
Bradley is a 6-foot-1 combo guard and he is will be the second
player to be a part of the Clayton State program, joining current
Laker sophomore Torrin Greene. Bradley had inquiries from the likes
of Division I programs College of Charleston and Jacksonville, but
chose to state close to home at Clayton State.
“We are excited to add a player of Zach’s ability to
our program,” said Gibbon, 155-86 entering his ninth season
at Clayton State. “He will help us fill a void left when two
of our seniors graduate after this season.”
Bradley has been a two-year starter for the North Clayton and head
coach Martisse Troup.
Last season, he averaged 16 points, two assists and eight rebounds
as the Eagles finished with a 15-10 record. He also shot 75 percent
from the free throw line last season. Bradley has been on the
varsity since his freshman year, where he played sparingly on the
North Clayton’s 2006-07 team that went 23-10 and reached the
Class AAAA semifinals with Greene as go-to player.
In addition to being a standout on the basketball court, Bradley
sports a 3.6 grade-point average.
“Zach is an outstanding student and team leader and will fit
perfectly into our system at Clayton State,” Gibbons
said.
