Mar 1, 2008 Men's Basketball Daily Update - March 1 The 2007-08 season came to an end on Saturday for most PBC teams
and it ended with a bang as upsets reigned supreme.
UNC Pembroke started the eyebrow-raising with a 71-69 win over
visiting Columbus State. Zach Honeycutt had 16 points and
five rebounds while Jonathan Hart added 15 points.
Francis Marion trailed Clayton State by 17 with 16 minutes to
play, then for the second straight game embarked on a huge run that
led to a 67-64 victory. Houston Power led the Patriots with
17 points (14 in the second half) while Michael Laney added 15 (12
in the second).
Armstrong Atlantic State avoided the upset bug with a 72-52 win
at Lander. Corey Johnson had 2 points while Jamaal Galloway
added 17 and Patrick Sanou had 15 points and eight rebounds.
Augusta State finished their schedule with a tough 65-58 win
over Georgia Southwestern. Garret Siler had 16 points, four
rebounds and four blocks while Ben Madgen added 10 points and seven
rebounds.
With that, the seeds are nearly set for next week's PBC
Tournament. However, the bracket will not be released until
the conclusion of the USCA/GCSU game on Sunday.
