Jan 4, 2010 Brandenberger Signs NLI to Play Baseball at Flagler ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. − Jake Brandenberger, a left-handed
pitcher from North Port High School in North Port, Fla., has signed
a National Letter of Intent to play baseball at Flagler College as
announced by Flagler head coach Dave Barnett on Monday.
Brandenberger was 4-2 with a 2.40 earned run average at North Port
last year.
"Jake made great strides his junior year at North Port and we know
his best days are ahead of him," Barnett said. "Jake has the
ability to pitch immediately, but we know he will grow and mature
into a caliber pitcher needed to win in the Peach Belt
Conference.”
Brandenberger has lettered in baseball for three seasons, including
this upcoming season. He struck out 60 batters in 50.0 innings
pitched last year. Brandenberger was named the team’s
“Most Valuable Pitcher” and was named All-Area as a
sophomore.
Flagler is a member of NCAA Division II and the Peach Belt
Conference. The Saints open the 2010 season on the road, at the
Savannah College of Art and Design, on Feb. 2 at 4 p.m.
