On behalf of the Peach Belt Conference Student-Athlete Advisory
Committee, I would like to welcome you and thank you for visiting
the official PBC SAAC webpage. My name is Edlin Veras, and I am a
track and field student-athlete and criminal justice major in my
senior year at Clayton State University. This will be my third year
involved with SAAC, including my second year as Clayton State SAAC
President, and my first year as PBC SAAC Chair.
The goal of the PBC SAAC is to give student-athletes a voice in
matters that may affect them both in the classroom and on the
field/court/track. Student-athletes across the PBC vote on
desirable legislation and various other administrative decisions
based on their respective campus interests. In addition to aiding
in administrative decisions that are made, the PBC SAAC and campus
SAACs are devoted to the community. The schools that comprise the
PBC hold many volunteer events in an effort to raise money for the
less fortunate as well as form close bonds with their community.
One of our most notable contributions as a PBC SAAC is the money
raised annually for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which is an
organization designed to grant children with life-threatening
issues the wish of their dreams.
The aforementioned goals of the PBC SAAC all contribute to the
ultimate goal of creating well-rounded individuals.
I would like to personally thank you again for visiting our website
and hope that it is informative and one that you will check out
periodically to find out what individual SAACs are doing across the
Peach Belt Conference.

On behalf of the Peach Belt Conference Student Athlete Advisory Committee, the PBC SAAC would like to welcome you and thank you for visiting the official PBC SAAC webpage. I am Alex Sickman, and currently am a Student Assistant Coach on the Augusta State University baseball team. I also have the honor and responsibility of serving as the Chair of the PBC Student Athlete Advisory Committee. This will be my third year being involved with the SAAC committee, 2nd as ASU’s President, and first as the Chair of the PBC SAAC.
The role of the PBC SAAC is as varied as the student athletes who make up the committee. Mainly the purpose of this committee is to provide a voice and an outlet for each and every student athlete on every campus across the Peach Belt. That voice is heard by the various administrations from campuses, conference office, and the NCAA. We provide feedback and vote on various legislation every year that has a direct role on rules, games, and student athlete well being. The PBC SAAC is also active in trying to provide opportunities for student athletes from across the conference to be active in local communities through charity engagement and assorted service projects. Over the past few years, the NCAA Division II has partnered with the Make-a-Wish foundation raising awareness and financial support for granting “wishes” for children battling terminal illnesses.
The PBC SAAC is dedicated to the development of the ‘whole’ student athlete from the field or court to the classroom and preparing students for life. The PBC and SAAC are committed to ensuring that student athletes have a Life in Balance, which is an initiative that was put in place to separate Division II from either other division. NCAA Division II is committed to allowing student athletes the opportunity to experience both college athletics and a semi-normal college experience.
I would like to personally thank you again for visiting our website and hope that it is informative and one that you will check out periodically to find out what individual SAACs are doing across the Peach Belt Conference.
