Former PBC Staffer Allen Joins Augusta State Athletics
AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Kay Allen has been named Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Academic Services, according to an announcement Monday from Augusta State Director of Athletics Clint Bryant.
Allen is the second full-time coordinator of the position specifically for ASU Athletics. Ian Potter held the position from September, 2007 until January, 2012. Previously, ASU Head Softball Coach and Assistant AD/Student-Athlete Services Melissa Mullins handled all compliance matters for Jaguar Athletics.
“We are fortunate to have found someone of Kay’s caliber and she’ll make a fine addition to our staff,” Bryant said. “Her experience and background will be a definite asset to our entire department. I think she is a perfect fit for us, especially as we transition into consolidation and beyond.”
A native of Greenville, S.C., and an Augusta resident, Allen was raised in Augusta and attended Richmond Academy. She earned a B.S. in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology from Emory University in Atlanta in 2002.
Allen previously served in the Office of Compliance and Enterprise Risk Management at MCG Health, Inc. She earned her Juris Doctor in May, 2011 from the Florida Coastal School of Law, graduating cum laude. A former assistant to the commissioner in the Peach Belt Conference office, Allen also spent three years as a Membership Services Coordinator with the Georgia Health Sciences University Wellness Center.
Allen began her duties with ASU Athletics on Monday, July 16.
