SAVANNAH, Ga. - Current head women's soccer coach Eric Faulconer
has been tabbed as the interim Athletic Director at Armstrong
Atlantic State University by University President Dr. Thomas Z.
Jones.
Faulconer will caretake the Pirate athletic department until a
successor for retiring AD Dr. Eddie Aenchbacher is hired. The AD
search process is entering its final stages and Dr. Jones told a
gathered crowd on Friday evening at Dr. Aenchbacher's retirement
ceremony that an announcement is expected "within the next couple
of weeks."
The inaugural Women's Soccer coach at AASU, Faulconer started the
Lady Pirate program from scratch in 2005 after serving as the head
women's soccer coach at Thomas University for six years. Prior to
starting the Nighthawk program, he worked for the Eastern Indoor
Soccer League as a deputy and interim Commissioner.
A graduate of Florida State University, Faulconer begins his first
day as AASU Interim Athletic Director on Wednesday, April 1.
